Children and Vegetables
Last night I served the first BBG supper of the season to my family, in anticipation of today’s first CSA delivery of the year! Sure, we do some snacking in the field, but today I grabbed my basket and scissors and harvested enough for an 8-person meal. I admit, I didn’t actually think that a greens + tofu stir fry would be a huge hit, even with our favorite tofu, Rochester’s own SoyBoy.
I was very surprised to see my boys literally shoveling the food into their mouths. And really jazzed when Sasha, who is three and notoriously fussy at meals, cleaned his bowl out completely and was the first or second one finished.
And I agree with his demonstration: the greens tasted great! I had three bowls full.
